My Health Journey

First 17 Years

In the first 17 years of my life, I developed some very unhealthy habits and coping mechanisms, including emotional and binge eating. I tried numerous diets that were unsuccessful. It left me feeling frustrated, unmotivated and hating myself more than before.

One Year Later

In Nov. 2014, I started my fitness journey. It started with me watching the Biggest Loser as I ran on the treadmill. At 255lbs, it was painful. I followed the principles of eat less and move more. Within a year, I lost over 100lbs.  Although there was a price to pay, the habits that I did through were obsessive and compulsive. I would spend hours in the gym, eat the same amount a toddler should be eating. It was a destructive cycle. After the first year, I yoyo dieted for about 2 more years. Even though I was in a smaller body, I still felt the same as in the first stage of my journey.

Life Long Transformation

When I started studying more about the science of nutrition and intuitive eating, that is when I started to feel free. After years of reconnecting with my body and mind, I can easily say it's the best thing I have ever done!
After years of struggling, I finally found a place I can be healthy and confident in myself. That is why, I started my business. To help guide women who were like me, feeling frustrated, at witts end and wanting to make sustainable changes without sacrificing the things that mean the most to us.

My Recovery Journey

March 14, 2017

In 2013-2014, I was on the Rotary Youth Exchange Program in Poland. One day after school, when I was on my way home from school, I was run over by a city bus. After getting to the hospital, we found out my pelvis was shattered and that my ovaries, urinary tract, and bladder were ruptured. In the first two weeks, I had four surgeries that totalled over 36 hours.

May 2014 - Present

After spending a month in the hospital in Poland, I was allowed to fly home. I was admitted to the rehabilitation hospital in Saskatoon for three months. For about 2 years after, I attended weekly physiotherapy. I will forever live with the plates holding my pelvis together. There are still some unknowns of the impacts it has had on my body, but I am confident with the recovery of strengthening my body and mind that I can handle it.
